CCS Healthcare AB is already a market leader in the hygiene and disinfection segments in Sweden and Norway. The acquisition of the Danish business is fortifying the company’s position in the Nordic market and paving the way for other geographic areas such as Germany and France where Plum A/S commands significant distribution activities.

CCS Healthcare AB develops and manufactures hygiene and skin care products and pharmaceutical products for the public sector, industries, companies and end users. Plum A/S is targeting its activities notably towards care and industrial segments. Hence, there are considerable synergies to be reaped from the overlapping activities of the two companies.

The acquisition price remains undisclosed, however, CEO Poul Bertelsen and the co-owner Ida Plum will reinvest considerably in CCS. The Plum CEO will join the CCS management group. The acquisition will be completed during the first half of 2015. Plum A/S maintains its company name. After the acquisition, the CCS group comprises CCS in Sweden, Antibac in Norway and Plum A/S in Denmark. The companies generate a combined turnover of SEK 650m per year.
CCS Healthcare AB is owned by Segulah, a venture capitalist, with annual turnover of around SEK 500m. CCS Healthcare develops and manufactures hygiene, pharmaceutical and skincare products. It has a total staff of 175 employees. With the acquisition, the group turnover will total DKK 515m with a staff of some 260 employees in Sweden, Norway and Denmark.
Plum A/S is founded as a family-owned company with annual sales of DKK 120m. Plum A/S develops and manufactures notably hygiene and skincare products for industrial and care sector use, and eyewash-based "first-aid" concepts. Plum’s eyewash is a strong brand enjoying rapidly growing sales. Plum A/S is market leader in Denmark with considerable sales in industrial segments and the other Nordic markets.
