"Plum A/S commands unique competencies in the hygiene segment. We are pleased that we jointly will be processing knowledge and creating even stronger expansion in an area with increasing global growth"
says Jonas Nilsson, CEO of CCS Healthcare AB.
CCS Healthcare AB is already a market leader in the hygiene and disinfection segments in Sweden and Norway. The acquisition of the Danish business is fortifying the company’s position in the Nordic market and paving the way for other geographic areas such as Germany and France where Plum A/S commands significant distribution activities.
"Disinfection is one of society’s most rapidly growing hygiene segments and in line with a continuously growing awareness in the healthcare sector, corporate organisations and private homes of the need for fighting infection contamination. The acquisition puts us into a unique market position, enhancing our opportunities for sustained product development and growth ", explains Jonas Nilsson, CEO of CCS Healthcare AB.
CCS Healthcare AB develops and manufactures hygiene and skin care products and pharmaceutical products for the public sector, industries, companies and end users. Plum A/S is targeting its activities notably towards care and industrial segments. Hence, there are considerable synergies to be reaped from the overlapping activities of the two companies.
"I am pleased that our company will contribute to create the leading player in the Nordic market for hygiene products. Together with the rest of the CCS group I am looking forward to participating in the ongoing development work ", says Poul Bertelsen, CEO of Plum A/S. Together we will be meeting customer requirements very effectively and we are anticipating growth prospects that will help secure even more jobs at our production site in Assens, Denmark.
The acquisition price remains undisclosed, however, CEO Poul Bertelsen and the co-owner Ida Plum will reinvest considerably in CCS. The Plum CEO will join the CCS management group. The acquisition will be completed during the first half of 2015. Plum A/S maintains its company name. After the acquisition, the CCS group comprises CCS in Sweden, Antibac in Norway and Plum A/S in Denmark. The companies generate a combined turnover of SEK 650m per year.
CCS Healthcare AB is owned by Segulah, a venture capitalist, with annual turnover of around SEK 500m. CCS Healthcare develops and manufactures hygiene, pharmaceutical and skincare products.
